Envelope addressed to France bearing French Napoleon Yvert 16, 40c orange (imperf) with four fine margins tied by "CECB.C" in lozenge with adjacent 'Corps Exp. Chine/ Bau Central' date stamp '2nd Oct 60' with framed 'PD' endorsed 'voi Anglaise de Suez' with Paris and Mazeres receiver on reverse. On 8th April 1860 Britain and France declared war on China, French troops already assembled in Hong Kong opened the Bureau Central there, at the end of May the French military Command left for Shanghai and the Bureau Central moved in May/ June 1860.
