French Colonies. (New Caledonia). 1905. Envelope addressed to Germany bearing New Caledonia Yvert 45, 10c black/ blue and Yvert 61, 15c grey tied by Nelle Caledonie/ PAITA double ring '11th Juil 05' routed via Noumea '11th Juil' with Leipzig receiver on reverse '21st Aout'.

The British trader James Paddon established a sandlewood business on Nou Island in 1855 which was to become Port de France and a second merchant business at Paita a parish near Noumea.

Commercial covers are very scarce.
