Great Britain. (Spain). 1857. Stamp-less envelope written from Leith dated '4th Aug 1857' addressed to Spain cancelled by 'Leith/ Paid' with adjacent 'Paid at Edinburgh' with circular 'PP' in red on face, rated '11' in m/s, endorsed 'via France' with French entry cachet and charged '11' (reales), corrected to 1o R with hand-struck 'MP' (Medio-Porte) in blue on reverse (showing the cover was allowed at Printed Matter rate), Cadiz arrival '15th Aug' and disinfected in vinegar against cholera. Very interesting item.
